| There are two ways to get your own shop in Second Life®. The first one is to rent a shop in an existing shopping mall, the second is to buy or rent land to put your shop at. Once it´s ready you have to advertise your shop to other SL™ residents. If you have own land you can list the land in the SL™ search. Open the "About Land" menu (click on the land name on the upper part of your SL™ viewer) and enter a name and a description. Then click the "Options" tab and enable "Show Place in Search". You will find your land listed in the "Places" search immediately (ranked by traffic) and in the "All" search after 24 hours. The ranking in the "All" search depends on mainly but not only on how many other avatars have your shop/place in their Profile Picks (4th tab in your SL™ profile). There are Profile Picks Reward System available in Second Life which pays the avatars that have your pick in their profile a daily or weekly amount of Linden™ Dollars. In long term that is a good promotion for your shop and you are listed in many avatar profiles that are viewed by others. Create a logo for your shop and some advertising textures that describe your items or service. With a good logo other residents will remember your shop and branding is important, even in Second Life®. A 500 x 362 pixel texture fits perfect in your land options and classified ad. To create a classified ad open your profile, click the Classified tab and press the New button. Enter the shop name, a description and choose if your shop contains mature items or pictures. Pree Publish and enter the amount that you want to pay for one week classified advertising. The minimum size of a land plot is 512qm with a 117 prim maximum (primcount of private island can vary), the maximum size is 65536qm which is a complete sim with a max. primcount of 15000 prims. 512 qm = 117 prims 1024 qm = 234 prims 2048 qm = 468 prims 4096 qm = 936 prims 8192 qm= 1872 prims 16384 qm = 3744 prims 32768 qm = 7488 prims 65536 qm = 15000 prims |
